Museum as a Classroom

North Dakota history comes alive at Prairie Village Museum. As students explore our 20 historic buildings, they learn about the region’s immigrant settlers and get a feeling for what life was like in North Dakota’s early prairie towns.
Objects displayed in these structures and six exhibition halls tell the story of the people who made their homes on the North Dakota plains, from American Indians to settlers from Norway, Germany, Russia, and more. They view Native American artifacts, antique cars, and even an iron lung. And everyone loves Clifford “The Scandinavian Giant” Thompson.
